Please note: Farwell died at Sweetwater when it was then in Esmeralda County, NV. It is now in Lyon County, Nevada.
Bridgeport Chronicle-Union, Bridgeport, California, 3/25/1899:
"On Sunday morning I. N. Farwell, formerly County Clerk of Esmeralda county, Nevada, and a resident of Monitor, Alpine county, in its boom days, died at Sweetwater, Nev., of hasty consumption, at the age of 62 years. The deceased having belonged to Aurora Lodge, I.O.O.F., so many of them now residing in Bridgeport, the members of the Order in Bridgeport conducted the funeral services, the remains arriving here from Sweetwater at about 5 o'clock on Monday afternoon, and were soon after interred agreeably with the rites of the Order, a choir rendering appropriate hymns. Mr. Farwell, we hear, left a married son and daughter in San Luis Obispo county."

Death of I.N. Farwell
I.N. Farwell died in Sweetwater on the 19th instant, after an illness of four weeks. The cause of death is said to have been hasty consumption. Mr. Farwell was well and favorably known in this county [Esmeralda Co., NV], having been County Clerk in 1880-2. He was a native of Maine, aged 62 years. The funeral took place in Bridgeport on the 20th, under the auspices of the Odd Fellows, of which deceased was an honored member.
