His father was Milton Andrews and his mother was Mary Elizabeth (Outcalt) Andrews. Both his parents were born in Wisconsin. . His parents moved from Wisconsin near Odessa, Lincoln County, WA while Oscar was still in his early years.
He was divorced when he married Julia Houck 25 November 1907 Spokane, Spokane County, WA. Oscar was a carpenter working in Odessa, Lincoln County, WA when he married. Julia was born about 1883 in South Dakota. Her father, George Houck was born in Germany & her mother was also born in Germany. They were living n Odessa, WA.
He helped build of many of the first residences and business buildings in Odessa.
From his obituary: "The family moved from Odessa to Harrington about 1912 and Mr. Andrews took a position with the Charlton boys in the Ford Garage. From Harrington the family went to California in 1922 where they remained for 13 years, the major portion of this time being spent at Monterey. Mr. & Mrs. Andrews returned to Harrington in April of 1934, and during the summer was in the employ of his old boss, Conrad Eckhart of Odessa, while he was building elevators at Mohler and Harrington for the United Grain Growers, Inc. At the beginning of the school year he was given the position of bus mechanic for Harrington Consolidated District #191, and in connection with that, drove one of the busses."
He was taken to Spokane in his ambulance and was operated upon for appendicitis. His appendix had burst before operating and gangrene had set in so they were too late. His wife was sent for Wednesday morning and he died at 3:30 Thursday morning.
After his father passed away, Elge Andrews from Soledad, California took his mother with him to live in California.
They had three sons:
