She graduated from Nebraska State Teachers College - Peru on May 27 1938 and taught elementary school in the rural Salem, NE and Tampico, IL areas. Later, she was a librarian at Henry C. Adams Memorial Library in Prophetstown, IL for about 25 years.
She was an excellent cook and enjoyed playing cards, reading, and needlework. She died at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Morrison, IL after extended illness and was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister, and an infant daughter.
