Lois's parents are Maud (Dow) and Leslie Walter Denison. She was a member of the Tampico American Legion Axillary Post 574 and Royal Neighbors of America. She was a 1918 graduate of Brown's Business College in Sterling, Illinois and worked briefly as a secretary at the Tampico Elevator and was then a secretary at the Glenwood School for Boys, Glenwood, Illinois prior to marriage. She married Henry John Frederick Kolb on 4 July 1920 in Tampico. She died at Prophets Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown, Illinois at age 83.
