His wife Allie Taylor Middleton filed for divorce 10/31/1889. Divorce was granted 12/20/1889. He died 3 days later. In 1878 he and his brother, Evan P were admitted to the bar before the Supreme Court of Ohio at Columbus. In 1879 the brothers opened a law office in Urbana, OH called Middleton & Middleton.
