| Birth: | Jul. 24, 1916 | | Death: | Sep. 3, 2006 |  MIDDLETON, John E. of Cable, Ohio went to be with the Lord, Sunday Morning, September 3, 2006 in his woods. He was born July 24, 1916 in Cable, the son of John & Adah (Ford) Middleton. John was an 1934 graduate of Cable High School and served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from the Champaign County Soil and Water Conservation. John was also a tree farmer. During his life time he has planted nearly half a million trees. He was a member of the Cable United Methodist Church. John is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lucille (Gregg) Middleton; his sons, "John" Jack (Janet) Middleton of Mechanicsburg & Marion (Toby) Middleton of Cable; his daughters, Zita Middleton of Urbana and Jane (David) Runyan of Bellefontaine; eight granddaughters, 17 great grandchildren; as well as many relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Beatrice Fox and Katheryn Huber. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2006 in the FRESHWATER, MCDONALD & VERNON FUNERAL HOME, North Lewisburg. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2006 in the funeral home with the Rev. Joyce McKeever officiating. Burial will follow in Jenkins Chapel Cemetery, Cable, Ohio.
