Thomas W. Bickel, 67, Milan, died Monday, May 14, 2001, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Beulah Presbyterian Church, Orion. Burial is in Beulah Cemetery, rural Orion, with military rites conducted by Milan American Legion Post 569.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Family Funeral Services, Milan, with Masonic services at 8 p.m. conducted by Eureka Masonic Lodge 69 AF and AM, Milan. Memorials to Beulah Presbyterian Church Roof Fund.
He was born Dec. 22, 1933, in Milan. He married Maureen Day May 2, 1953, in Milan.
He was a correctional officer at East Moline Correctional facility for 18 years. Prior to that he owned Bickel Ford for many years in Milan. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was member and past master of Eureka Masonic Lodge 69 AFandAM, Milan; The Valley of Moline Consistory, KAABA Shriners of Davenport; Kaiser-Frazer Owners Club; Crosley Auto Car Club; Milan Optimist Club; T.P.A., Blackhawk Campers on Wheels; Elder and member of the Beulah Presbyterian Church. He was a former director of the Milan Indian Festival Queens Pagent and served 20 years on the Blackhawk Volunteer Fire Depart.; and Milan American Legion Post 569.
Survivors include his wife, Maureen, Milan; and daughter and son-in-law, Billie Jo and Donald Bargmann Sr., Orion. He was preceded in death by Thomas W. Wright and Ella and Cecil Bickel.
