Graveside services were conducted Tuesday afternoon for Melvin Leon Bishop, 48, and Enos native who died Monday morning in Denison.
George Couch officiated for services at the Lark Cemetery. Service arrangement were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home.
Mr. Bishop was born August 17, 1936. He was reared in the Enos area and lived 20 years in Garden Grove, California, working as a painter most of his adult life. He returned to Madill six weeks ago due to ill health and was in the hospital at Denison three weeks before his death.
Survivors include his mother, Hazel Bishop of Madill; five brothers, O. J., James, Bill and Jerry Bishop, all of Enos, and Delmas Bishop of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Wanda Arterberry and Berneice Laird both of Enos and Irene Weaver of Madill.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Casket escots for serviceees were Bud, Ramon and Preacher Kaney, Buford Williams, Wiley Jr. and William Macon and Alton Moss.
