Norman Earl Bishop, 83, of Terre Haute and formerly of Sullivan, passed away at 12:40PM Thursday August 27, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Pleasantville, Indiana August 21, 1926, the son of James William Bishop and Mary Harbin Bishop. Norman was an independent Insurance Agent, also during his retirement he worked at the Pipe Rack, and Pak-n-Ship. He was an Army Air Force Veteran of WWII, and the Korean War , a member of the Oregon Baptist Church in Terre Haute, and the Terre Haute American Legion Post # 346. He was preceded in death by his parents, also his first wife Wanda Allen Bishop in 1974, his second wife Beverly Ann James Bishop in 2008, one daughter Teresa Lafollette, a brother Leo Bishop, and a grandson. Survivors include four sons, Michael Bailey and wife Mary of Terre Haute, Jeffrey Bailey of Naples, Fl., Robert Bishop and wife Dorinda of Plainville, IN., Will Bishop and wife Pam of Noblesville, IN., four daughters, Jennifer Berhalter and husband Tom of Venice, Fl., Barbara Ellis of Terre Haute, Jean Mason and husband Mike of Sullivan, Kathyrn Kay Kaperak and husband Ted of Terre Haute, one brother, Jim Bishop of Farmersburg, three sisters, Dorothy Beck of Linton, Irene Weesner of Elkhart, IN., Evelyn Hale of Sandborn, 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM Tuesday September 1, 2009 at Banks and Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Rev. Fred Harrison officiating. Interment in the Indian Prairie Cemetery with military graveside services by the Sullivan, Shelburn, and Hymera Legion Posts, and the Sullivan VFW Post.
