He lived his early life in Elkhart, then moved to Blue Ridge Summit with his family at the age of seven. A 1985 graduate of Waynesboro Senior High School, he attended Franklin County Vo-Tech School, Chambersburg, where he learned his trade as a welder. He was employed as a welder, first at Ingersoll-Rand Co., Shippensburg, then at Grove Worldwide, Shady Grove, and last at Benju in Waynesboro. He enjoyed working on cars. In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sisters, Deborah M. Love of Elkhart, Beverly J. Roth of Michigan and Naomi S. "Cooki" Myers of Waynesboro; three brothers, Ira W. Grissinger and Danny L. Grissinger, both of Waynesboro, and Skeater W. Grissinger of Leitersburg; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
