Rosanna Clark was born 24 December 1812, Londonderry county, N. Ireland, the daughter of Anthony Clark and Mary Duncan. She married John Caulfield, Sr., 25 December 1848, Sharon, Pennsylvania. In 1850, she was living in Brookfield, Trumbull, Ohio with her husband, eldest son, William, and Jane Caulfield, John's 60 year old mother. In 1855 they settled in Olmsted County, Minnesota, where she continued to live until her death. According to the 30 December 1898 edition of the Rochester Post, the couple celebrated their fiftieth anniversary at their home, 1 1/2 miles northwest of Byron. At that time, they were blessed with five children and ten grandchildren, all living. Their marriage certificate and the bride's veil were objects of great interest to the assembled guests. Rosanna's funeral service was held at the Methodist Episcopal Church, of which she was a member for many years.
