Husband of N. Loretta Barrett (1926-2000)

Submitted 9/9/2020 Clyde Glenn Barrett was born on September 29, 1924 in Kellyville, OK, to Lillard Burton and Ollie Adeline (Bostick) Barrett. He departed this life on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 in Stroud, OK at the age of 95 years.

Clyde was the last surviving child out of twelve siblings from LB and Ollie Barrett. At a young age, Clyde recalled his family had traveled by covered wagon from Texas to Oklahoma to farm. He attended Davenport schools through the Eighth Grade and then went to work on the family farm. He built and operated his own butcher shop in Chandler for many years. Then later he worked as a butcher in Stroud and Chandler until the age of 85. He was a hard worker all his life. Clyde was married to Loretta (Smith) Barrett in 1946 and they had four children together. After 54 years and life together, she passed in February of 2000. Clyde was then remarried to Betty Rozell later that year. They shared eight years until Betty passed as well.

Clyde is preceded in death by his parents, eleven siblings, first wife Loretta Barrett, second wife Betty Rozell, granddaughter Lisa Bruton, two stepchildren; Watts Rozell and Don Rozell.

He is survived by his four children: Carolyn Skinner and husband Eldon, Freda Ludy and husband John, Pam Mattheyer and husband Jay Bird, and Clyde Barrett Jr and wife Tara. His grandchildren: Stacy Hodge and husband Greg, Jana Weatherford and husband TJ, Barrett Ludy and wife Laura, Tara Howell and husband Jessy, Matthew Mattheyer and wife Morgan and Sophie Barrett. His twelve great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. His five stepchildren: Ann (Rozell) Day, Roger Rozell, John Rozell, Nancy (Rozell) Orr, and Earl Wayne Rozell. In addition to nieces, and nephews, many other relatives, and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at New Zion Cemetery in Chandler, OK officiated by Reverend Mike Mitchell. Come and go visitation will be 9:00 am to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 11, 2020. Condolences may be offered online at www.parksbrothers.net.
