Funeral services for Ira Carlton
of Ellery were held Monday from
the Ingram Funeral Home with Rev.
Joe Brumett officiating. Interment
was in the Bethel Cemetery.

Mr. Carlton was found lying be-
side the drag line he was operating
on the Gilbert Harms farm near
Bone Gap about 7:30 Friday morn-
ing by Bob Morris, truck driver for
Phillip Everett. Mr. Carlton, also
employed by Everett, was taken in
the Ingram ambulance to the Rich-
land Memorial Hospital in Olney,
where he was pronounced dead on
arrival, probably from a heart at-
tack.

Mr. Carlton was born in Hamil-
ton county on July 31, 1899, the
son of Vincent and Cora and Ra-
leigh Carlton, and was married to
the former Rena Walters in 1917.
To this union were born three
daughters, who, with his widow,
survive him. They are Mrs. John
Bunting of Albany, Ore.; Mrs. Betty
Murphy and Mrs. Don Hill of Mt. Carmel.

Also surviving are a brother,
Marion Carlton of Albion and a
s sister, Mrs. Frank Houfman of
Brazil, Ind. His parents and one sis-
ter, Mrs. Ralla Hedge of Albion,
preceded him in death.
