Ronald A. ADAMS, 72, of Bethalto, died at 10:17 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008, at his residence. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, in the First Baptist Church in Wood River, with the Rev. Joel LOHR officiating.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. at Masonic & Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton.
Marks Mortuary, 633 E. Lorena Ave., Wood River, Il 62095 is handling the arrangements.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Wood River or BJC Hospice, and will be accepted at the funeral home. He was born Oct. 14, 1935, in Benton, the son of Arthur and Gladys (SUMMERS) ADAMS. He married Rosalie REED on May 19, 1959, in Christopher, and she survives. Mr. ADAMS was an inspector with the Shell Oil Company in Roxana for 34 years. He was a member of Wood River Masonic Lodge 1062, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. Mr. ADAMS was an avid golfer and runner, and completed two marathons.
Survivors include two daughters, Diana and husband, Robert ROGERS of Peoria, and Debby and husband, Dan RELLING of Bridgeton, Mo; a son, Gary and wife, J.R. LINN of Bethalto; a grandchild, Melissa and husband, Jason CATLIN; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Liza CATLIN; a sister, Doris BENIGNUS of Benton; and a brother, Dale (Lois) ADAMS of Benton. Mr. ADAMS was preceded in death by his parents.
