Services Held Tuesday for Mrs. Mabel Barnes

Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton for Mrs. Mabel Katherine Barnes, 92, rural Havensville. Mrs. Barnes died Saturday, September 3, at Dechairo Hospital in Westmoreland.

The daughter of James and Louisa Southworth Rule, she was born January 19, 1891, at Soldier. She moved to Havensville in 1929.

Mr. Barnes was a member of the Christian Church in Soldier.

She was married to Frederick L. Barnes in 1907 at Holton. He died June 12, 1973. She also was preceded in death by two daughters and a son.

Survivors include four sons, Dale Barnes, rural Havensville, and Raymond Barnes, Donald Barnes and Dallas Barnes, all of Topeka; two daughters, Mrs. Vivian Barr, Wamego, and Mrs. Marjorie White, Holton; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Burial was in the Soldier cemetery.
