It is our painful duty this week to chronicle the death of Henry Arthur Eastland, respected young farmer, and citizen who passed away in his home last Wednesday evening between 11 and 12 AM after an illness of two weeks subsequent to an operation which he underwent in a St. Paul hospital recently. The cause of his death was due to meningitis, which virtually means an acute inflammation of the membranes of the brain.

Mr. Eastlund was only 32 years old, born at Eastwood farm at Little Lake, April 21, 1885, where he has always resided and was as one would say, taken away at the time in life when he had reached his full manhood and had a bright future ahead of him. He was a young man of unusually quiet and pleasant disposition and has scores of loyal friends, all who learned to love and respect him. A young man of clean character, honest and upright in all his dealings, he had gained the high regard and esteem of all who knew him.

He was a member of the Interstate Farmers Club and often attended the meetings, always showing a keen interest in the proceedings and was a devout member of the Swedish M.E. Church of this village.

The impressive funeral was held from the Swedish M.E. Church at Lindstrom at 2:30 pm, Rev E.A. Wahlquist officiating in the Swedish language and the local pastor Rev E. Magnuson in English. Interment followed at the Methodist Cemetery in Center City.

The deceased is survived by an aged mother, two brothers, two sisters and uncle and an aunt in Center City and an uncle and aunt from Ubet, WI.

Relatives who attended the funeral from distant places were Andrew Eastlund and family and Mr. and Mrs. O. Olson and son from Denver Junction, WI, John and August Chilstrom and sons of Princeton, Minnesota, Mr and Mrs George Chilstrom, Edwin and Peter Eastlund and daughter Ruth of Isanti, Mr and Mrs P. O. Peterson, Mr and Mrs V.L. Peterson and Mabel Norelius of Cambridge, Mr and Mrs Pete Lindstrom of Fish Lake, Pete Moody, Eric Moody and sons Robert and Willie of East Cambridge.
