Robert Camerer, 70, of Jacksonville , formerly of Eldred, passed away Sunday evening January 9, 2011 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. Born in Carrollton on Oct. 5, 1940, he was the son of the late Sam and Beatrice Dale Camerer. He married the former Mary Elizabeth Malin on Aug. 5, 1960 in White Hall and she survives. Also surviving are a son: Rob (wife Monica Lynn) Camerer of Springfield, MO, 2 daughters: Janet (husband Greg) Hay of Quincy, IL, Mary Camerer of Jacksonville, 3 grandsons: Jonathan, Joshua and Jeremy Camerer, a brother Charles "Sonny" (wife Melody) Camerer of Scottville, 4 sisters: Linda Tribble of Eldred, Janet Stendback of Pittsfield, Kay (husband Bill) Nichols of Jacksonville, Phyllis "Tudie" Whitlock of Panama City, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Betty Ritter. Bob was a longtime foreman for Mobil Chemical Company. He loved gardening, hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. He was project manager for "Scenic Byway" project and a former village clerk for the village of Eldred and was anxiously awaiting the birth of his new granddaughter. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. on Wed. Jan. 12, 2011 at Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday Jan. 13 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Eldred Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
