Hazel Mae Davis, 96, of Sallisaw passed away Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, in Vian. She was born June 1, 1917, in Muldrow, the daughter of Willie and Lilly (Spencer) Woodward. She married Sylvester "Pete" Davis on Dec. 9, 1934, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death on March 18, 1986, in Sallisaw.

Mrs. Davis was a charter member of Rocky Point Baptist Church. She loved gardening, flowers, sewing, reading, cooking, canning and attending church.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Sue and Gary Seay, Ruth Ann and Vick Harris, all of Vian, and Sylvia May and Eddie Brooks of Sallisaw; Dwight and Sandy Davis and Will and Dianna Davis, all of Sallisaw; three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Ray and Plummjet Davis of Muldrow, 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Sylvester "Pete" Davis; a son, Ronnie Davis; her parents, Willie and Lilly Woodward; two sisters, Margie Howell and Artie Cole; two brothers, Everett and Harvey Woodward; and one great-grandchild, Aubrie Harris.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw with the Rev. Herman Jones officiating. Burial will be at Rocky Point Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Viewing will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m.

Active pallbearers will be Monty Davis, Matthew Davis, Jeremy Davis, Jason Brooks, Nathan Brooks, Joe Brooks, Chad Harris and Thad Harris.
