GALESBURG - Freeda Josephine Anderson, 91, of 919 Locust St. died at 6:23 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

Born June 6, 1912, in Astoria to George and Clara Alice Anderson Benton, she married Clarence E. Anderson on Jan. 18, 1932, in Monmouth. He died Oct. 17, 1983.

She also was preceded in death by two sisters.

Surviving are one son, Gary of Galesburg; one daughter, Donna (and Kenneth) Reed of Galesburg; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Galesburg, where she was a former member and leader of its Ladies Circle, former secretary of its Sunday school office and a Sunday school teacher for many years.

A private family graveside service will be Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Paul Johnson will officiate. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to her church.
