Born in Munich, Germany April 2, 1881, he came to the United States 15 years later settling first in Alabama and later in Ohio. He served in the U. S. army during the Spanish-American war and came to Bismarck shortly after he was discharged in 1904.
During his residence he served as county coroner and justice of the peace Mr. Beer left here in 1932 moving first to California and later to Nebraska.
He leaves his wife the former Evaline MacBeth, Mandan, son Anthon C. Beer, Bismarck; four daughters, six sisters in Germany and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial were held from the St. Mary's cathedral in Grand Island, Neb., May 31.
