Cal was born May 7, 1926 at Shamrock, TX. Cal was always a calm, quiet friend and a “dreamer” throughout his life. He was raised in Colorado and enjoyed the mountains. During his life, Cal had foremost in his mind, either panning for gold or thinking about panning for gold. He also enjoyed reading the “Hobbit” book series. He married LaVergne Hance in November of 1947.
Together they raised three children. Mrs. Bass died 25 years ago.
Cal served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He is survived by two sons: Cal (and wife Katherine) Bass, and Craig Bass, and one daughter: Susan (Mrs. Herman) Roebke, all of Chicago, Illinois. Also surviving are eight grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
