CAMBRIDGE -- S. Marie Allen, 92, died Friday (July 7, 2006) at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

She was born Jan. 19, 1914, near Orafino to Marion C. and Minnie M. (Teagle) Kilburn. She grew up in the Orafino area attending grade school. She later moved to Cambridge where she graduated from high school.

In 1934, she was united in marriage to Nelson "Tot" Allen. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1981. The couple farmed near Orafino for a while before purchasing the farm southeast of Cambridge. She moved to the Heritage Plaza shortly after "Tot's" death.

She resided at the Plaza for more than 25 years. She joined the Evangelical United Brethren Church in 1928, which has since united with the Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a member of the UMW and Circle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters; Leeta Ruth Cullom and Beulah Speyer.

Survivors include her daughter Margie Kaufflet and husband John of Overton; son, Douglas Allen and wife. Marlys of Windsor, Mo.; two sisters, Norma Randolph of Fairfield of Calif. and Hazel Taychman of Wichita, Kan.; one brother, Jessie Kilburn of Mountain Home, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesdsay, 2 p.m., at Trinity United Methodist Church in Cambridge with the Rev. David Rowe officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge.

Memorials may be left in her name to the Trinity United Methodist Church.
