Niswander, 79, of Rt. 3 Box 220 Bluefield, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born Oct. 19, 1920, in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late Garnet Niswander and Virginia Lee Belcher Niswander. She had been a resident of Rt. 3, (Bluewell) for 15 years and was a retired school teacher having retired from Bramwell Elementary School with 30 years total service. She was a graduate of Bluewell High School and Concord College and was a member of the Carr Memorial United Methodist Church, Princeton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Robert Niswander. Survivors include one brother, Richard Niswander of Sun City, Fla.; one niece; two nephews; and special caregivers, Robert and Betty Miles of Rt. 3, Bluefield, and Curtis and Becky Sparks of Princeton. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cravens Shires Funeral Home, Bluewell, with Rev. Robert Shields officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Waterfalls Mausoleums Bluewell. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
