76. died Tuesday evening at the
E lizabethtown Community
Hospital.
He was born Oct. 6, 1902 in
Westport, the son of Louis and
Ellen (Couchey) Merrow.
He was a member of the
Westport Volunteer Fire Department for more than 50 years. He
was a member of the Knights of
Columbus.
He leaves his wife, Catherine
Fitzgerald Merrow; a son, Ralph
Merrow Jr. of Troy; a daughter,
Mrs. Jane Hathaway of
Elizabethtown; a brother, John Mero of Westport; two sisters,
Mrs. Noel (Georgianna) Merrihew
and Mrs. Howard (Victoria) Hill,
both of Westport; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and
several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be at the
Hamilton Funeral Home Inc. in
Westport today from 2 to 4 and 7 to
9 p.m. The Port Henry Council 384,
Knights of Columbus, will have
services at the funeral home this
evening at 7: 30.
Funeral services will be held
Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Philip Neri
Church here.
Burial will follow in the parish
cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has
requested donations be made to the
Westport Emergency Squad .
