Emma and Samuel migrated from Clarke Co., GA to Wood Co., TX between 1871 (after the birth of Birdie). They appear in the 1880 Wood Co., TX Census. By 1900, they were living in Burnet Co., TX. In 1910 and 1920 they were living in Austin, Travis Co., TX. Emma is listed in the 1930 Travis Co, TX Census and was a resident at the Confederate Women's Home.

Emma died in Travis Co., TX.
