HAILEY JANYA OLSON
JULY 25, 2005 – SEPTEMBER 12, 2013
If you ever had the pleasure to meet Hailey you would never forget her. The sparkle in her big brown eyes, her sweet smile and her wonderful laugh. Right away you knew you had met a very special person. Hailey was funny, artistic, generous and beautiful. She was strong and full of love. She touched and inspired the lives of everyone who knew her.
HAILEY'S STORY – November 2011 Hailey was diagnosed with DIPG, a rare inoperable brain tumor. With her strength and courage, and her mom's (Hilary Olson) determination and love, Hailey lived a memorable and amazing life for almost 2 more years. Hailey never stopped laughing and never stopped making people laugh. Hailey travelled to Hawaii for her Make-a-Wish trip. She swam with dolphins, went to a luau and went horse back riding. Her nanna (Jeannie Olson) organized a Nickelodeon cruise for her, that featured SpongeBob, her favorite. In the spring of 2012, Hailey was inducted as a team mate on the Bridgewater State College varsity girl's softball team. They fell in love with Hailey the day they met her. She was instantly part of the team, sitting in the dugout during games and learning to pitch and hit. For the past 2 years Hailey was honored by a team of 26 riders in the Pan Mass Challenge bike ride. They also were amazed at Hailey's courage and strength. Hailey loved to swim in her pool, draw, horse back riding, SpongeBob, legos, maps and video games with her dad (Justin Ethier). Hailey loved animals. She had a Shih Tzu – Princess and a baby bunny – Bibble that stayed on her bed all day to cheer her up. On September 12th. 2013 Hailey got her angel wings. She is missed by all of her family, friends and the hundreds of people whose lives she's touched and inspired. Hailey will always be with us. She will paint us a rainbow, color a flower, mold clouds to look like SpongeBob and design us a beautiful dragonfly.
