The funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Convent Chapel. The Rev. Gerald Walker, O.F.M. Cap. will officiate and burial will be in the convent cemetery.
Sister Ilene, was born Ilene Mary Hambeau, Jan. 26, 1928, at Escanaba, Mich., daughter of the late Lawrence and Irene Burns Hambeau. She entered the Order of Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity in 1943, and professed her vows in 1946. She received her teachers certificate for professional music from Nebraska, a B.M. degree from Holy Family College with a major in music education and a minor in French and piano and a M.M. degree from Chicago Conservatory. She taught Music, Piano, Organ and Violin at various schools at Rice Lake; Holy Family Conservatory, St. Joseph, Green Bay; Neenah; St. Mary, Kaukauna; St. Philip, Green Bay; Immaculate Conception, DePere; St. Nicholas, Zanesville; Cambridge; St. Benedict, Ohio; Petosky, Mich.; St. Willibrord, Chicago, and St. Mary at West Point, Neb.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, a sister, Mrs. Jean Brauns of Lafayette, La., and her stepmother, Mrs. Margaret Hambeau of Dothan, Ala.
Friends may call at the convent 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday. A prayer service will be in the convent chapel at 7 p.m. Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is in charge of arrangements.
