Kenneth B. Dwinell
Kenneth was born on May 10, 1913 to James and Ida (Katt) Dwinell in Rock Rapids, Iowa. As a child, his family moved to a farm near Canby, MN where he attended country school. Kenneth was confirmed at the Florida Lutheran Church near Canby, Mn. Following his education, he helped on the family farm and also helped on his aunt and uncle's farm near Rock Rapids, IA. Later, he started farming on his own near Canby.
On April 19, 1955 he was united in marriage to Avis Miller in the Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Canby. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed west of Gary, SD. In the late 1960's Kenneth began working road construction where he continued to work until 1975. He then began working for Edgar Holm on the farm where he worked for several years until he retired. On October 23, 2003, Kenneth passed away at his home in Gary at the age of 90 years, 5 months, and 13 days.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Jo Olson and her husband Dennis, of Vermillion, SD; two grandchildren: Tara Larsgaard and her husband Eric of Hillsboro, Oregon and Danielle Olson of St. Paul, MN; one great-grandchild, Matilyn Short of St. Paul, MN; one brother-in-law, Toby Haug of Madison, MN; one sister-in-law, Donna Dwinell of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his wife Avis; parents; three brothers; Virgil and his wife Millie Dwinell and Leroy Dwinell; two sisters; Margaret and her husband Warren Struss and Viva Haug. Funeral services were held on October 27, 2003 at 2:30 pm at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Canby, Minnesota with Pastor Katherine Rood officiating.
