Bobby Halydier (66012477)

Suggested edit: Bobby Layne Halydier, 61, went to be with the Lord on January 6, 1995 in San Angelo, Texas.
He was born in Menard, Texas on November 2, 1933 to Rex and Lillie Bell Halydier. He moved to Ozona, Texas with his family when he was 6 years old. Bobby was a 1951 graduate of Ozona High School.

In 1956 He began a career of 38 years with Ozona National Bank, retiring as Assistant Vice President in October 1994. During his years at the bank, he made many friends whom he enjoyed helping and knowing.

Bobby’s time with the bank was interrupted for two years’ service with the U. S. Army in Germany from 1957 to 1959 and again for 1 year in 1961-62 when he was recalled during the Berlin Crisis and sent to Fort Polk, LA. He received an Expert Rifle Badge and the badge for Good Conduct. Back in Ozona, the bank held his position open and he returned to work.

He married Shirley Ann Harris in Ozona on September 3, 1960. A son, Michael Gene, was born in July 1964; and a daughter, Susan Kay, was born in February 1970.

Bobby was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mertzon. He came to know the Lord at an early age and was baptized at First Baptist Church of Ozona where he served faithfully as church treasurer for many years.

In 1977, they moved to their small farm on Spring Creek between Mertzon and Sherwood where he spent many happy hours fishing and tending to his land. He loved growing trees, gardening and tending small livestock and chickens. He loved the beauty, peace, and tranquility of the country. For 17 years he drove from Mertzon to Ozona to work.

His father, Rex Halydier, a Crockett County Commissioner, and businessman, preceded him in death in March 1967.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, his son, Michael of Dallas, his daughter, Susan of the home, his mother, Lillie Bell Halydier of Ozona, and his brother, J. R. Halydier of San Antonio.
