BERTHA TAMM

Mrs. Bertha Tamm, 92, a town of Charlestown resident and a former resident of Kiel, died this morning in Willowdale Nursing Home, New Holstein where she had been a resident for six weeks.
The former Bertha Wieting was born Jan. 11, 1885, in the Town of Schleswig, a daughter of Frederick and Mary Schilling Wieting. She attended district school there.

June 3, 1908 she married Edward W. Tamm in the town of Schleswig. The couple lived in Appleton and Kaukauna before moving to Kiel in 1913. Mr. Tamm was a former secretary and founder of the Kiel Saving and Loan. He was also a former state bank commissioner. He died in 1949.

Mrs. Tamm was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in the Town of Schleswig, the Woman's Society of the church, the General Arts Homemaker's Group and the Kiel Lodge Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Allen C. (Lydia) Leverenz of R. 1, New Holstien, with whom Mrs. Tamm made her home for the past six years; a son, Charles of Beaver Dam; five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Lydia Wieting of Kiel. She was preceded in death by a brother.

Funeral services were Wednesday in Bethel United Methodist Church, the Rev. Barbara Miller, pastor, officiating, Burial was in Kiel Cemetery.
Members of the Eastern Star Lodge conducted a memorial services at the funeral home.
