Mr. Otto Stecker, 94, of 320 North St., Kiel, died Friday evening, Dec. 18, at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, shortly after being admitted.
He was born Nov. 11, 1893, in the Town of Rantoul, son of the late Frederick and Maria (Lemke) Stecker. He attended Trinity Lutheran Parochial School in the Town of Rantoul. His first marriage was to Edna Schwanke. She preceded him in death. On Nov. 26, 1953, he married Valeska Gosse Richter at Kiel. He farmed for several years in Calumet County, and also owned and operated several cheese factories in the Chilton and Kiel area. Stecker was also an employee at Reliance Construction Co., in Sheboygan, retiring in 1958.
He was a World War I veteran, serving in France in 1917. Stecker was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel, serving on its church council for several years, and the Kiel American Legion.
Survivors are his wife, Valeska; two daughters, Mrs. Randy (Valerie) Spindler of Newton, and Mrs. Elaine Wick of Milwaukee; a stepson, Victor Richter of rural Kiel; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, five brothers, and a son, Ronald.
Funeral services will be held at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel. The Rev. Richard Warnke, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel, will officiate. Burial will be in the Kiel Cemetery.
