Velma Pearl Ramsey, 93... died Friday, March 23, 2001, at Mtn. View
Health Care Center. She was born Feb. 26, 1908 in Birch Tree, the
daughter of John and Agnes Mercer Thomas. On Feb 26, 1928, she was
married to Kib Williams at West Plains and to this union three
children were born. On Nov 14, 1959, she was married at St. Louis to
Ted Ramsey, who preceded her in death in 1992. Mrs. Ramsey was a
past member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the
Primitive Baptist Church. She and her husband, Ted, owned and
operated the Apple House on U.S. 160 West for approximately 15
years... Survivors include two sons, Carl Williams, Thomasville, and
Billie Williams and wife, Charline, Thayer; one stepson, Gene Ramsey
and wife, Carla, Broken Arrow, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Faye Buckley
Nuttle, Mtn. View, and Juanita Turner and husband, Bob, Oldfield; six
grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Edith Peace,
Birch Tree. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first
husband, who died in 1960; one daughter, Wilma Leach; two grandsons;
and one brother, Ray Thomas. Burial was in Corinth Cemetary, Birch
Tree, under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home.
