Thomas Lambert was born September 11, 1816 in Yorkshire, England, the son of John and Ann (Smith) Lambert. He married Rosamond Watson on December 10, 1839 in Yorkshire, England; she was the daughter of William and Anne Watson. (Refer to her name in this cemetery.) They immigrated in 1840, sailing about the ship "Fairfield," arriving in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he worked as a coal miner. Sometime between 1845-1846 they moved from Pittsburgh to Carroll County, Illinois. Their children were Anne Lambert, who married Dudley O'Neal (they're buried at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Carroll County), Elizabeth Jane Lambert (who didn't marry), Thomas Robert Petty Lambert (who didn't marry), Thomas Lambert, who married Grace Longstaff and Susan St. Ores, William Albert Lambert, who married Harriet Stedman and Martha Rhodes, Ellen Elizabeth Lambert, who died young, and Arthur Lambert, who married Sophia Miller and Kate Bowers.
