Alvina C. Reichart, age 94, of Kiel, died Monday morning, July 11, 2011 at Willowdale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein. She was the former Alvina Reiser, born December 4, 1916 in New Holstein, daughter of the late Matthew & Clara (Oldenburg) Reiser. She attended Public Grade School and High School in New Holstein. On September 25, 1948 Alvina married Eldon Reichart at St. Peter's Evangelical & Reformed Church in Kiel. The couple made their home in Kiel after their marriage. Eldon preceded her in death on April 4, 1965. Throughout her adult life, Alvina worked at Hart-Carter in New Holstein, Kiel Woodenware Co. & Plyco Corp. in Elkhart Lake. She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel and a charter member of the Pocahontas Yellow Bird Council of the Improved Order of Redmen. Alvina had a zest for life and always had a smile to share. She enjoyed traveling, polka music & dancing, genealogy, picture puzzles and was a Brewers fan. She also enjoyed & kept her self busy decorating her home for the four seasons and Holidays. She lived true to her motto, "Never give up." Survivors include her daughter Claire of Kiel, five nieces: Margene (Ed) Hoefler, Marilyn Bratz, Mary Ann (Rev. Marvin) Deerhake, Barbara Balz, Janet Finner, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Fredrick Reichart. Funeral services for Alvina will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2011 at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel with Rev. Judine Duerwaechter officiating. Burial will take place in the Kiel City Cemetery. Family & friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial has been established for the Kiel Senior Citizens & St. Peter's United Church of Christ. Alvina's family would like to thank the nurses & staff at Willowdale Nursing & Rehab Center, Calumet Co. Hospice & Rev. Judine Duerwaechter for their support, compassion and prayers. "Mom, you were my best and dearest friend, you will be sadly missed. This is not good bye, just so long."
