Mrs. Katie Oesau passed away at the home of her foster father, John Voss, on Saturday, after a lingering illness with cancer of the liver.

Decedent was born near Marshfield, Wis., December 27, 1880, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Reichert. At the age of 7 years she came to Kiel with her parents. After their separation the mother married John Voss, who she divorced five years later. The daughter Katie remained with the foster father and performed the duties of his household up to the time of her death. In 1905 she was married to George Oesau, of which union a daughter, Clara, was born, who is now 17 years old. She received a good education, and is talented musically, having recently stood an examination as teacher very successfully.

The parents of the deceased died many years ago. Besides her husband and daughter, she is survived by one sister in Janesville, who could not attend the funeral owing to illness.

The funeral took place on Monday afternoon, with burial in the Kiel cemetery.
Henry Goeres, and old friend of the family, spoke briefly at the obsequies, upon request of Mr. Oesau, who is a relative of Mrs. Goeres.
