James H. Danaher, Sr., a life-long resident of Westport died very suddenly at Hotel Westport on Wednesday AM. Mr. Danaher, an employee of the NY State highway department for several years, failed to report for work and a fellow worker seeking the reason found that he had died in his sleep. Mr. Danaher was for a few years employed in Worcester, Mass., where he married Miss Marion Hennessy who died several years ago. He is survived by one son Ensign James Danaher, now stationed in San Francisco Harbor and who through the help of the Red Cross was able to fly home to his father's funeral. Also surviving are his brothers, PFC Wm. Danaher of Buffalo, Frank Danaher of Orange NJ and his sister, Mrs. Harold Bunce of Long Island. The funeral was held on Friday from Marvin's funeral parlor in Elizabethtown and requiem high Mass at St. Philip's Church in Westport, Rev. E.H. McCarthy officiated. The bearers were Harold Stewart, Andrew LaPine, Victor King, W.J. Quinn, George Rhone, Thomas Fitzgerald. Burial in St. Philip's Cemetery.
