José Claudio "Clyde" Armijo, age 84, beloved father, grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 25, 2010.
Clyde was born in Corrales, NM and was a resident of Albuquerque.
Clyde served our country in the United States Army during World War II as a Teletype Operator. Clyde was a member of the American Legion Post #69. Clyde retired from Kirtland Air Force Base as a firefighter. Clyde will fondly be remembered as a hard worker, wonderful father and provider with a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by his family and by those whose hearts he touched.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Rita Armijo, brothers, Frank Armijo, Tony Armijo, Waldo Armijo and Cipi Armijo, granddaughter, LeAnne Joney and step-father, Sam García.
Clyde is survived by his loving children, Michael "Mike" Armijo and his wife, Yolanda, Joseph "Joe" Armijo, Margaret "Margie" Quintero and her husband, Mark, Herman Armijo and his wife, Brenda and Linda Harry, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Chonita Lucero and her husband, Ramon, Alvinita Lucero, Dora Gurulé and Lydia Santillanes and her husband, David, his brothers, Jimmy and his wife, Virginia, Ernest and his wife, Nora and David Armijo, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In honoring Clyde's wishes, no services will be conducted. Placement will take place at Vista Verde Memorial Park Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
