Louise H. "Lucy" Lutz, 96, formerly of Kiel, died Saturday evening, October 4, 2008 at Willowdale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein.
She was the former Louise Henschel, born January 23, 1912 in the Town of Russell, daughter of the late Walter & Katie Buchmann Henschel.
Louise attended school in Elkhart Lake.
On April 19, 1930 she married Lester Lutz at St. Peters United Church of Christ, Kiel.
Lester preceded her in death on March 29, 1996.
Louise worked for the Kiel Grade School and High School in the lunch program for many years until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Peters United of Church of Christ, Kiel, where she was a member of the Women's Guild and other church clubs. She also was a member of sewing clubs and homemakers clubs.
Louise enjoyed traveling, gardening, serving for church projects, babysitting her grand and great-grandchildren, and was a baking specialist.
She was the family relationship leader, raising two girls, giving a helping hand with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was a wonderful teacher, giving encouragement and valuable advice to her family and friends, always stressing to keep the best attitude possible.
Survivors include her daughter, Lorraine (Milton) Abel, Elkhart Lake; son-in-law, Roger L. (Nancy) Spindler, Neenah; and four grandchildren, Bonnie & Michael Whitman, Pamela Shotts, Roger Todd & Sara Spindler and Roger Mark & Leah Spindler. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren: Shawn Whitman, Crystal Wagner, Ryanna, Adam Gates, Samantha & Spencer Shotts, Zachariah & Josiah Spindler, Annabell Lois Spindler; one great-granddaughter, Hazel; one sister, Edna Hassinger, a resident of Willow Park, New Holstein, formerly of Plymouth; one brother, Alfred (Barbara) Henschel, DeForest; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lois Ann Spindler, one grandson, Dennis Thiedeman, three brothers, and one sister.
Burial will take place in the Kiel City Cemetery.
