Alice Marie Schulte
Mrs. Alice Schulte, age 83, formerly of Gary, passed away on June 21, 1993 at the Good Samaritan Center in Clear Lake. Mrs. Schulte was born February 24, 1910 at Gary, SD, a daughter of John and Ada (Oswald) Kenyon. She grew up in Gary and graduated from Gary High School. She taught school before her marriage and for a few years after her husband passed away. She married Bernard Schulte on October 28, 1933 at St. Peter's Catholic Church of Gary. They farmed east of Gary for two years and then moved to Latimer, Iowa. In 1940 they moved to a farm south of Gary. Her husband passed away in 1964. She continued to make her home in Gary until 1982 when she entered the Good Samaritan Center. She was a member of the St. Peter's Catholic Church of Gary and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by four sons, Donald of Gary, Eugene of Eden Prairie, MN, John (JB) of Prior Lake , MN, and Paul of Richfield, MN; three daughters, Judy (Herb) Hunt of Mora, MN, Frances (Elmer) Fritz of Clear Lake and Cecil (Austin) McInerny of Egan, MN; one sister, Rachel Bundy of Clear Lake; 22 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Richard.
Mass of the Christian Burial was held on June 24. 1993 at 10 am at the St. Peter's Catholic Church in Gary with the Rev. FR. John Fischer officiating. Casket bearers were Bruce Fritz, Chad Schulte, Greg Hunt, John McInerny, Jim Fritz and Doug Fritz.
