STEWART - Jewell Virginia Stewart, 59, 1224 E. Riverview Drive, Byron, was dead on arrival at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 1983, at St. Anthony Hospital, following an auto accident. Born April 16, 1924, in Hidalgo, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Othel Mondon. Lived 20 years in rural Byron, coming from Rockford. Married to Maurice Stewart in Dixon, Sept. 18, 1969. Employed as cook by Highland Nursing Home five years. Attended Hidalgo public schools.

Survivors include her husband, Maurice; five sons, Quinton and Gregory Keeling, both of Chandler, Ariz., Kevin R. Keeling, Rockford, Leland K. Keeling, Cold Hill, Ark., and Cleo D. Keeling, Brooklyn Center, Minn., a daughter, Pamela Sue Phillips, Chandler, Ariz.; and 15 grandchildren.

Services at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 28, in Morrison Funeral Home, Byron, with the Rev. Earl Appleby, pastor of First Baptist Church, Byron, officiating. Burial in Byron Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials to First Baptist Church.
