He moved to Evansville, IN in 1884. There he married Ella Gordon of Fort Branch, IN in 1899. She died in 1902. They had no children.
He lived in Evansville for 30 years coming to Clay City Dec. 4, 1913 to the home of his sister, Mrs. John Blacklidge. W. H. Hinds of St. Louis, Mo was a brother.
Interment was in Clay City Cemetery.
