She is the former Alice Johnson, born April 18, 1929 in Kiel, daughter of the late Winford and Hildegard (Becker) Johnson.
Alice was a 1947 graduate of Kiel High School.
On July 3, 1948 Alice married Edward H. Krostag at First Presbyterian Church in Kiel and he preceded her in death on February 2, 2004.
Alice was a homemaker who took great pride in raising her family. She and her husband Eddie also owned and operated Krostag Funeral Home in Oostburg from 1957 until 1985.
Alice was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church in Kiel and Oostburg, She was involved with Church circle and taught Bible Classes. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Auxilliary in Kiel and Oostburg and was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts.
In her free time she enjoyed bowling, ceramics, and playing cards with her card club friends.
Survivors include her five children, Edward A. (Diane) of Oostburg, John (Carla) of Oostburg, William (special friend Shirley Cordts) of Waubeka, Ann (Ivan) Eernisse of Oostburg, Jim (Denise) of Oostburg; her eight grandchildren, Helen Bell, Tony (Kristin) Krostag, Jan (Patty), Jamie (Heidi), Mike (special friend Tammy), Amy Eernisse, April (Joe) Schramm, Alison Krostag; eight great-grandchildren, Taylor, Emily, Hailey and Jacob Eernisse, Chance, Thurston and Silas Schramm, Sophia Krostag. She is further survived by her twin brother, Allen D. (Donna) Johnson, St. Paul, MN; two sisters, Barbara A. Healy, Kiel, Nancy Heimlich, IN, one sister-in-law, Irene Krostag, Sheboygan, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two infant granddaughters and two brother-in-laws, Roger Heimlich and Richard Healy.
Funeral services for Alice will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 31, 2008 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 6th St. Kiel with Pastor Joe Brath officiating.
Burial will take place in the Kiel City Cemetery.
