BILLY DENE COWEN, age 65, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, October 26, 2002 after a lengthy stay at the VA Hospital in Houston, Texas battling pulmonary fibrosis. Born July 13, 1937 in Corsicana, Texas, his family moved to the Houston area a few years later where he attended schools and studied at Southern Bible College before enlisting in the United States Air Force. While stationed at Dyess AFB, Abilene, Texas, he met and married Barbara Ann Glaze on June 25, 1961. Bill and Barbara moved back to the Houston area where Bill worked as a machinist, eventually establishing his own business, named after his three daughters, Karen, Cindy and Valerie. Most recently he was employed at North Houston Machine in Tomball before retirement in 2001. Bill was active in local churches, serving as Youth Director, Sunday School teacher, Sunday School superintendent and former deacon board member at Tomball Assembly of God, Tomball, Texas. Bill's sense of humor and genuine concern for others brightened many lives. He loved God and his family, always putting them first. His wife, Barbara and their three daughters, all born in Houston, currently live in the area with their families. Bill is survived by his wife, Barbara, of 41 years and daughters Karen Elaine Flores (husband Mark), Cynthia Ann Nemeth (husband Greg), and Valerie Denise Beil (husband Steve). He was the proud grandfather of seven wonderful grandchildren: Brittany Nicole and Natalie Renee Flores; Kaylee Ann, William Gregory and Trevor Dene Nemeth; Ashley Taylor and Victoria Denise Beil. Also, twin brother Bobby Gene Cowen of Pasadena, Texas and sister Viola Mae Hoover, San Marcos, Texas, along with numerous neices and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by parents Ira Benton and Ora Mae Cowen, sisters Gene Harris and Laverne Brenneman. Visitation will be Monday, October 28, 2002, 5 P.M. - 7 P.M., at Klein Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday at Tomball Assembly of God Church, 1101 W. Main in Tomball.
