IN THE LINE OF DUTY
Valeree Claude, age 33, died unexpectedly in her sleep on June 22th while on duty at Pinetop, AZ. Fire Station 2. Valeree began her employment with the Pinetop Fire Department as a reserve firefighter on March 7, 2003 and was hired as a full-time firefighter on July 1, 2003.
She was born and raised in Show Low, graduating from Show Low High School in 1990. She was a cheerleader, and also played high school volleyball and was a member of the High School Rodeo Association from 1988-91.
Following high school she married Jeremy Flores in 1993 and they had two children, Chance Lane Flores and Chandler Jaycee Flores.
She was a personal trainer in the Valley before moving to Show Low, where she owned and operated Cabanna Tanning in Lakeside.
She married Travis Claude on Aug. 14, 2001.
In July of 2003 she went to work for the Pinetop Fire Department as a firefighter and EMT. She took a lot of pride in her work, and had a great love for serving the community.
She loved her children dearly, and was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister and friend, who will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband, Travis Claude; her children, Chance and Chandler Flores; her stepson, Tanner Claude; her parents, Sonny and Suzi Reidhead of Show Low; two sisters, Darbi (Jerry) Woolford of Show Low and Shannon (Brad) Wilson of Gilbert; one brother, Dustin (Michelle) Reidhead of Show Low; her grandmother, Nellie Troutt of Phoenix; four nieces and four nephews; and her family at the Pinetop Fire Department.
