Monroe Brewer, 83, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at the Cushing Regional Hospital.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Palmer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lamont Henderson presiding. Interment will follow at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater under the direction of Palmer Funeral Home of Cushing.
He was born Aug. 29, 1917, in Myrtle, Mo., to Jake and Myrtle Minnie (Williams) Brewer. He received his early education in Missouri.
He moved to Oklahoma in 1932 and married Alethia (Dugger) Oct. 18, 1937, in Perry.
He was a construction worker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; one son, Harold Gene Brewer; one grandson; Dean Monroe Brewer; five brothers and six sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Brewer of Cushing and James Brewer of Brentwood, Calif.; two sisters, Glena Gaither of Tulsa and Opal Coyner of Cushing; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
