Parsons Sun, June 29, 1982:

C. S. "Chris" Breneman, age 100, passed away June 28, 1982. He was a native of southern Neosho County, born on Feb. 16, 1882, to Franklin and Wilhemina Eisenbrandt Breneman. A portion of the home farm is now a part of Lake Parsons. His grandfather, Samuel Breneman, homesteaded the land in 1850. he was a retired farmer, a member of the Otterbein United Brethren in Christ Church, had served on the board of the former Ladore School. His first marriage was to Agnes Virginia Oler on Jan. 30, 1904. She died on Jan. 31, 1923. He and Kathryn Collins Wells were married July 8, 1931. Survivors in addition to his wife, are three sons, Everett, Melvin and Ivan, and a daughter, Agnes Munson, one step-son, Melvin Wells; 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. A son, Merle Breneman, and a brother, Lewis preceded him in death.
