John L. Alden, age 84, of Plainfield, IL at rest Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at his home with his family at his side. Born March 18, 1925 in Aurora, IL the son of the late Lloyd and Verna Alden. Survived by his wife of 29 years, Shirley, his children Lynne (Barry) Johnston and Dawn (Richard) Lawrence both of Joliet, IL and Brenda (Jody) Hall of Salem, AR. Grandfather of seven. Preceded in death by his parents and his sister Priscilla Gates. Veteran of WWII and his favorite past time was fishing and watching football. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431 or the charity of your choice.
