He was a retired custodian of Bradner School and was a retired bus driver for local schools. He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Bettsville and was very involved with community service with the Bettsville Exchange Club and served with the United States Marines.
He enjoyed his retirement years working with his son, Al in "Mr. Bill's DogHouse" at various events. He enjoyed spending time with Paulette, Alan, Heather, his two granddaughters, Paige and Camdyn, his buddy Parker and his many friends especially if sitting around the campfire or eating out.
Survivors include his wife, Paulette (Andrews) whom he married on January 25, 1974; two children; three step-children; fifteen grandchildren; a brother and a sister.
Memorial service held on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Zion United Church of Christ in Bettsville with Pastor Gary Adams officiating. There will be no visitation or burial held at this time.
