Eva was the granddaughter of Wilhelm and Gabriele Dionst Klein of Ockstadt, Oberhessen, Hessen, Germany, and John and Eva Eulen Mieser of Neuen,Gronau,Hessen Capel Germany.

Daughter of Heinrich and Elizabeth May Mieser Klein,
born in Crab Orchard, Lincoln Co.,KY, Eva was the youngest of Heinrich Klein's 10 children.

1)Heinrich first married ? in Germany, they had 5 children:
John Klein
Carl Andreas
Adam J.
Margaret
Rhinehardt Klein.

2] Marriage to Elizabeth May Meiser Klein, they had 5 children:
George Henry, Klein,JR.
Jacobus Paulus[James] Klein
Elizabeth May [Lee] Klein
Anna [Bessie] Klein
Eva Klein.

Heinrich met Elizabeth Meiser, in Germany or on board ship, because they both arrived in 1884 and married May 13,1884 in New York City, before journeying to Kentucky. They were early Kentucky settlers, clearing land of dense timberland, tilling the soil and harvesting crops. This union produced five more children; Eva, being their youngest child.

Heinrich returned to Germany alone and died of a heart attack as he was embarking from the ship.

Eva's widowed mother,Elizabeth, moved to St. Bernard, Ohio with her 3 daughters and ran a boarding house to support herself and family. She later married [2] Fred Binder.
As was their custom, Eva accompanied her mother, Elizabeth, to the P&G freight yard to gather coal. She cautioned Eva to stay in one spot. When Eva saw a crowd gathered near the tracks, she sensed something had happend to her mother. Elizabeth had been killed instantly by an incoming freight train.
Eva was placed in an orphanage and when she became of age she was released with 25 cents and she didn't know what to do or where to go. She went into a nearby theatre where the opera "Tales of Hoffman" was playing. Baccarole, a beautiful melody from the opera, became her favorite and is included here. She became a governess and worked in candy and cigarette factories to support herself. Later, she was a riding instructress for the Kenny Riding Academy Stables.

She married 1)James Chyne Valentine McIntyre and had one son: James Marion Mc Intyre.

Widowed, she married 2) Rocco D'Amato and had 4 children:
Geraldine [Geri)Elizabeth D'Amato
Donald Damiano D'Amato
Marion D'Amato
Carole D'Amato.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an excellent seamstress having made most of her family's clothes.
A great baker, she made her own bread, cakes and pies; and an excellent cook having mastered German, Italian, Chinese and Jewish cuisine. She taught her children how to cook and her children and grandchildren continue to make her recipes to this day.
