Charles Reeb and his brother Jacque immigrated to the United States in 1880 from near Strasbourg, France.
His father, also Charles Reeb, is buried in Ingweiler, near Strasbourg in France. He married Marie Schott in Dallas. The Schotts were also immigrants from the same area of France.
Charles took his son, Charles Jr., back to France to visit relatives in Paris and Strasbourg, in 1906.
For many years, Charles owned and ran a saloon in downtown Dallas where the modern day Nieman Marcus store sits.
Charles and Marie had four sons and two daughters. The sons were Charles Lawrence, Lerno "Blackie", Marcel "Pete" and Rene.
Their daughters were Lorene Reeb Henry and Gertrude Reeb Wissman.
